Their Satanic Majesties Request is the 1967 psychedelic rock album
by The Rolling Stones. It was released as a response to The Beatles'
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and was a departure from the
band's blues-rock sound.
The album cover is notable for its 3D lenticular design, created by
photographer Michael Cooper, who also shot the cover for Sgt.
Pepper's.
This cover made it one of the most expensive album covers of its
time. The album was met with mixed reviews upon release, but has
since been re-evaluated as a key work in the Rolling Stones'
discography and an important artifact of the psychedelic era. Original
copies with the lenticular cover are highly sought a
er by collectors.
